Project scope

The project formed one of the two components of the Road Programme IV-Eastern Uganda (the other being the Rehabilitation of the Malaba/Busia – Bugiri road) covering 1400km of roads in Eastern Uganda under the classified road network.  

Monitoring of the overall maintenance levels in the project region; guiding and monitoring of the MoWHC mechanised routine maintenance contract; providing assistance and monitoring the axle load control performed by MoWCH; Pre-periodic maintenance contract, and setting up investigations, road condition assessment; periodic maintenance contracts procurement, administration and supervision; training and implementation of road maintenance management system (RMMS) and contract administration and management system (CAMS).
