Project scope

Rehabilitation and strengthening of 82.4km of Uganda’s main traffic artery.

Activities carried out comprised economic evaluation, road inventory, road condition surveys, deflection measurements, rut depth measurements, bridge and drainage condition surveys, traffic and axle load surveys and pavement strength evaluation and design recommendations, design of several swamp crossings using geogrids and geotextiles.

Further activities consisted of preparation of tender documentation and providing assistance in tender evaluation and award, which was followed by construction supervision, assessment of contractual claims and advice on amicable settlement.
