The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Uganda sought to upgrade Arua Airport from an ICAO Code 2B to an ICAO Code 4E status with a possibility of attaining ICAO Code 4F status in the future.
CAA planned to upgrade the status of the airport to a regional status in view of the potential for increased traffic in that region generated from Congo, Sudan and within Uganda.
This would require expansion of the airport as well as upgrading of the various facilities.
Development of a Master Plan for the Aerodrome, Design of infrastructure to support the fire and rescue services, Design of a passenger terminal building including lighting, access roads, perimeter fence and car parks. Design of the basic air navigation facilities including a control tower complex. Design of infrastructure to support cargo operations.
Topographical survey and soil investigation Undertaking detailed designs for airport taxiways and apron including air field ground lighting. Preparation of bidding documents in conformity with Public Procurement and Disposal Act, and Tender Action.
