Project scope
The post-flood interventions implemented under the programme were because of the extensive floods resulting from the abnormal heavy rains experienced in the North and North-Eastern regions of the country between August and October 2007. The resulting floods caused extensive damage to physical infrastructure and disrupted the livelihood of the local communities in the affected areas.
Therefore, the rehabilitation of the flood damaged bridges was to ensure all weather access and uninterrupted connectivity of road links in North and North-Eastern Uganda.
